Dorel Giurcă, în vârstă de 53 de ani, a murit din cauza COVID-19 pe 8 mai. Câștiga 10.80 euro pe oră ca om de serviciu în spitalul St James din Dublin.
Soția lui, Mirela, internată tot din cauza COVID-19 a spurs, Nu știu cum voi trăi fără el”.
Momentum, firma care l-a angajat, declară că a respectat cu strictețe protocoalele și măsurile de siguranță impuse de autorități contra COVID-19.
Nu a fost îndeajuns pentru a-l proteja pe Dorel.
Dorel a murit pentru siguranța altora pentru 10.80 euro pe oră.
El nu curăța o secție oarecare a spitalului, ci cea dedicată pacienților infectați cu COVID-19. Venise din România acum trei ani. În fotografia de mai sus în care savurează o bere, se poate ca cineva din bar să fi spus că românii vin aici pentru a ne lua slujbele. Se poate ca el să fi plătit o chirie exorbitantă unui proprietar lacom. Mulți l-ar fi desconsiderat pentru că era om de serviciu sau pentru că era un muncitor necalificat. Așa arată viața majorității cetățenilor noștri. La fel ca cei care se întorc astăzi pentru a lucra în construcții, în magazine și așa mai departe.
Alăturați-vă unui sindicat, luptați pentru un salariu decent și condiții bune care să vă ofere o viață demnă.

His wife Mirela who has Covid-19 said from her hospital bed “I don’t know how I will live without him”
Momentum his employer say they have adhered strictly to the protocols and guidelines that have been put in place by the relevant authorities in response to Covid-19.
Not enough to Protect Dorel.
Dorel died keeping people safe for €10.80ph.
He was not just cleaning a hospital ward it was a Covid-19 infected hospital ward. He came here from Romania three years ago. In the photograph of him enjoying his pint there was probably somebody in the bar saying that Romanian so and so coming over here taking our jobs. He probably was paying extortionate rent to a greedy landlord. Plenty of people would look down on him he’s only a cleaner or a Unskilled worker. That’s normal life for a huge section of our citizens. Rogue employers paying poverty wages that condemns you to this existence. We live in a society that accepts this inequality. Many profit from it. It’s no accident that the vast majority of workers on the frontline are on Low Pay. The same as those going back today building workers shop assistants and so on.
